Women’s tennis ranked No. 48 in latest poll

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — After defeating Temple 6-1 in their home opener last weekend the Nittany Lions are ranked No. 48 in this week’s ITA Rankings, moving up one spot in the rankings for the second consecutive week.

The Nittany Lions are 3-0 to begin the season and have won each match by at least three points. Four Nittany Lions remain undefeated in singles action and four remain undefeated in doubles action, including Sarah Henderson and Jacqueline Zuhse who have yet to lose a match in both singles and doubles competition.

Ten other Big Ten Conference teams are in the rankings along with Penn State this week. Non-conference opponent College of Charleston also remains in the rankings. The next closest Big Ten team in front of Penn State is the No. 41 Minnesota Golden Gophers.

The Nittany Lions look to continue their run up the rankings when they face the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington on Sunday.
