Roads in four other counties remain closed due to weather
Eastbound drivers are being directed off of I-80 at the Kylertown/133 interchange. Drivers will then follow Route 53 north to Route 144 south and re-enter I-80 at the Snow Shoe/147 interchange.
PennDOT expects to re-open the I-80 eastbound lanes before 2 p.m.
Motorists can monitor weather forecasts and check road conditions before beginning any travel. Visit www.511PA.com or call 511 from any telephone for access to current conditions on more than 2,900 miles of roadway. Drivers can also tuner to PennDOT’s Highway Advisory Radio System at 1640 on the AM dial for closure and detour information.
When traveling during a winter storm, drivers should adjust their speed to accommodate for changing weather conditions, including visibility. Winter driving conditions require that motorists allow for a greater following distance between vehicles. Motorists are reminded to always buckle up.
