Boy Scout Troop 9 of Clearfield recently attended the 44th annual Polar Bear/Klondike Derby at Camp Mountain Run near Penfield. This year, the troop entered four sleds with Patrol Leaders Joe Tomasko, Patrol name, Team Domination; Caleb Eisenhauer, Patrol name, Black Hawks; Richie Shaffer, Patrol name Flaming Icebergs and Porter Kling, Patrol name, Snow Scouts.
There were 11 skill stations throughout camp in which Team Domination placed first in First Aid and Knots and Lashing and Black Hawks placed first in Wildlife Identification. There were a total of 35 patrol teams entered in the Klondike Derby. Patrol Team Domination placed second overall, Snow Scouts placed 22nd, Flaming Icebergs placed 25th and Black Hawks placed 26th.
Those attending this event were leaders, John Mayersky, Mike Mayersky, Mike Clark, Ricky Lansberry, Todd Kling, Billy White, Jamie Lynch, Ryan Sayers and Chris Shaffer.
