Dennis Scott Collins Jr., 24, 501 East Market St., Clearfield, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal conspiracy/manufacture, delivery or possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He’s been sentenced to 90 days to one year in jail and two years consecutive probation. He was fined $700 plus costs. He was ordered to complete a drug awareness program and to follow the rules of his treatment plan with Discovery House.
The charges stem from incidents in October and November of 2010. Collins and Billie Jo Shaw were two of 13 people arrested in February after a two year investigation by the Clearfield County Drug Task Force.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Oct. 24, 2010, a confidential informant was contacted by Shaw, who had methadone for sale. She delivered the drugs to the informant at her home. The undercover officer watched as Shaw gave a prescription bottle with Shaw’s name on it to the informant who paid her $40.
On Nov. 12, 2010, a confidential informant told the undercover officer that Shaw had two doses of methadone for sale. The officer hid in the informant’s apartment when Shaw arrived. She had two methadone bottles with the name Dennis Collins on them. After they poured the medicine into the informant’s bottle, she paid $70 for it. As Shaw left, she noted that she had one more dose for sale.
During both controlled buys the officer saw Shaw arrive in a white car driven by Collins.
Billie Jo Shaw, 27, 501 E. Market St., Clearfield, pleaded guilty to two counts each of criminal conspiracy/delivery of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of communication facility in December. She was sentenced to 90 days to one year in jail and two years consecutive probation.
