Walter A. Johnson, 84, formerly of Philipsburg died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at West Palm Beach VA Medical Center in Florida. He was born Aug. 16, 1928, a son of the late Walter C. and Katherine Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was in the coal and trucking business and operated his own excavating and septic installation business in both Philipsburg and Florida. He served in the Korean War.
He was a 32nd degree mason, a Shriner and a member of the Flying Fez. He was a volunteer with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department.
He is survived by a son, Walter and his wife, Adina of Campobello, SC; a daughter, Linda and her husband, Steven of Coral Springs, FL; two grandchildren, Nicole of Coral Spring, FL and Matthew of Garden Grove, CA. He is also survived by a sister, Kathleen, a nephew Audie, and nieces, Nancy, Debby and Becky, all of Brookhaven, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife June (Wallace) Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
