Eugene L. ‘ Pat’ McKendrick, 85, of LaJose and formerly of Clearfield died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born Nov. 7, 1927 in Clearfield, a son of the late Merle and Hazel (Long) McKendrick.
Mr. McKendrick was employed as an iron worker in New York for 19 ½ years. He loved his racecars and delivering newspapers. Mr. McKendrick also enjoyed being outside cutting grass, hunting or fishing.
He is survived by two children, Patricia McLaughlin and her fiancé, John Lippert of Clearfield and Richard McLaughlin and his fiancé, Robin Hockenberry of LaJose; three grandchildren, Amanda McLaughlin, Betty Hubler and Isabella; three sisters, LaRue Long and Evelyn ‘Babe’ Scanish, both of Arizona and Phyllis Foster and her husband, Tex of Texas; two brothers, Bill McKendrick and his wife, Linda of Delaware and Ken McKendrick of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield with Dr. Duane A. White officiating.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home.
