Jane Rowles, 92, of Clearfield died under the care of the Clearfield Hospital Hospice on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1920 in Mineral Springs. She was formerly employed at Mac’s Bar and Grille in Niagara Falls, NY.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Rowles (John Buckley) of Rock Hill, SC; her grandchildren, Robert and Robin Maloney; her great-grandson, Tristin James Maloney; her grandchildren of her heart, Bryan and Jake Lambert and their families; her nieces and nephews, Jean McCall, John ‘Friday’ Rowles, Aaron Rowles, Louise Blitz and their families; numerous other family members; and her beloved cat, ‘JJ,’ who has given her devotion for the past 11 years.
She was preceded in death by Maude Sargent by whom she was adopted and raised; her husband, Daniel C. ‘Peck’ Rowles on Sept. 26, 2002 and whom she wed Aug. 14, 1940 in Clearfield; and two sons, James Rowles and Daniel C. Rowles.
At the request of Mrs. Rowles, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Ridgeview for the wonderful and loving care they gave during her time there.
