Obituary Notice: Romayne L. (Greenaway) Kitko

Romayne L. (Greenaway) Kitko, 76, of Madera died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital.  She was born May 30, 1936 at Tipton, a daughter of the late Henry M. and Eleanor (Markel) Greenaway.

She was a 1954 graduate of the former B.C.I. High School, Coalport and worked as a seamstress at the former Campalong Sewing Factory in Madera for 18 years and at the former Van Heusen Sewing Factory in Patton for 11 years.

She attended the New Hope Fellowship Church, Houtzdale, where she played the piano. In her younger years, she played the piano at the Coalport Christian & Missionary Alliance Church.

On Aug. 24, 1963 in Philipsburg, she married Leon “Yub” Kitko, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2011.

She’s survived by two step-sons, Raymond  E. Kitko and his wife, Nancy of Yukon, Okla. and Stephen D. Kitko and his wife, Jolene of Newton, NJ.

She is survived by five step-grandchildren, Melissa, Ryan, Michael, Ashley and Kevin Kitko; two nephews, Randy and Scott Toohey; a special niece and her caregiver, Melissa Toohey of Houtzdale; and her extended family, Maxwell and Alicia Spotts and their children, Jase and Axel.

She’s survived by two sisters, Frances Lester of Montoursville and Sharon Toohey and her husband, Arnold of Coalport; a half-sister, Helen Vaughn of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother,

Henry Dale Greenaway.

She loved her cats.

She requested there be no public visitation or funeral services.
