Obituary Notice: James H. Krause Sr.

James H. Krause Sr., 92, of Ramey died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at his residence.

He was born Oct. 6, 1920 at Osceola Mills, a son of the late William F. and Florence E. (Hartman) Krause.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as a truck driver delivering coal. He also was a member of the American Legion Freeberg Post #591, Houtzdale.

On April 14, 1954 in Osceola Mills, he married Betty M. (Herman) Krause, who survives of Ramey.

He’s survived by a daughter and three sons, Sharon Peachman and her husband, Ron of Smoke Run; Robert L. Krause and his wife, Tena of Madera; and William E. Krause and John D. Krause and his wife, Wendy, all of Ramey; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He’s also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Helen Dinant of Philipsburg; Jean Hammer and her husband, Walter of York; Kathryn Ross of Delaware; Harry Krause and his wife Lydia of Little Rock, AR; and Rodger Krause and his wife, Marie of West Decatur; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James H. Krause Jr.; a daughter, Sandra Opinski; a sister, Betty Himes and three brothers, William, John and Wesley.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and horses.

Private Committal Services will be held Monday in the Beulah Cemetery, Ramey, with Pastor Dennis L. Frantz officiating.   Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Freeberg Post.
