Obituary Notice: John A. “Jack” Rokosky

John A. “Jack” Rokosky, 74, of DuBois died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian.

Born March 5, 1938, he was the son of the late John P. and Margaret (Albert) Rokosky.

On Jan. 16, 1965, he married Carol A. (Liedl) Rokosky.  She survives.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a Second Lieutenant.

He provided refrigeration and air conditioning work in the area for many years.  He was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, where he had served as a Eucharistic minister. 

He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17 and loved fly fishing and hunting.

He is survived by three children, John D. Rokosky and Lee Ann Smith and her husband, Kurt, all of DuBois and David A. Rokosky and his wife, Rebecca of San Antonio, TX; three sisters, Delores Lauderbach of Grand Junction, CO; Anna Wagner and her husband, Richard of St. Mary’s and Margaret “ Peg” Kennelley and her husband, Raymond of Bethlehem; a brother, Joseph Rokosky  of Norristown; and six grandchildren, Joshua Smith and his companion, Stacie Salmon, Brandon and Jacob Smith and Jack, George, and Calvin Rokosky.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Rokosky.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. A ritual service will be held at 9: 15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Foradori as celebrant.

Full military honors will be accorded from the church by the member of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
