Visitors to the eastbound Interstate 80 rest area at Snow Shoe (Exit 147) could view the state’s DUI Association’s Victims Moving Memorial as part of a western Pennsylvania tour. PennDOT districts in the western portion of the state hosted the memorial through last week, with the final stop in Centre County.
The memorial is housed in a 30-foot trailer, the interior of which is painted with a garden scene. The memorial features the names of more than 2,000 DUI victims. Those names are the same ones honored in the state’s DUI Association’s Memorial Garden in Harrisburg. The traveling nature of the honorarium allows those who may not be able to travel to Harrisburg to see the memorial.
