Richard Peters, 62, of Philipsburg died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
He was the son of Michiko (Tadakuma) Peters and the late Edgar Peters born Dec. 1, 1950 in Yokohama, Japan.
Mr. Peters was of the Christian faith baptized March 8, 1952 and was received April 11, 1965.
He served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired laborer and a 1969 graduate of Round Top High School.
Mr. Peters is survived by his companion, Cathy Knepp at home; three step-daughters, Wanda Oswalt and her husband, Arthur and Tina Gavlock and her husband, Michael, all of Clearfield and Cathy Chapman and her husband, Charles of Philipsburg; a sister, Brenda Miller of Carmia, TX; a brother, Michael Peters and his wife, Connie of Carmia TX; six grandchildren, Richard, Michael, Andrew, Madison, Chase and Collin; three nieces and a nephew.
The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, with Pastor Darl L. Ware officiating. Burial will be at the Bradford Cemetery in Woodland.
Friends will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
