Paula Collins, director of the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, recently accepted a 2012 Friends’ Drive donation from Betty Buckell, a member of Clearfield Woman’s Club and also a representative of Friends of the Shaw Public Library.
The Friends of the Shaw Public Library financial appeal letter was written by long-time library friend and supporter Robert Schucker of Clearfield, who recently died. The 2012 campaign generated record funding for the Friends of the Shaw Public Library, surpassing more than $20,000 for the first time.
As a result of the overwhelming generosity of the community, the Friends were able to provide financial assistance to the library for the new HVAC System installed earlier this year, as well as to continue financial assistance for technology expenses, special event programs and summer reading supplies and incentives.
