Man Accused of Burglaries at Convenience Store in DuBois

DUBOIS – A 23-year-old DuBois man has been accused of burglarizing the Choice Convenience Store that’s located on West DuBois Avenue, according to DuBois City Police.

The man will face charges of burglary, theft and criminal trespass for two burglaries that occurred at the store this month. He’s been apprehended and placed in the Clearfield County Jail on a probation detainer.

DuBois City Police were dispatched at 12:04 a.m. Wednesday for an activated alarm at the Choice Convenience Store. Upon arrival they discovered the glass in the front door had been smashed; the store had been burglarized. Surveillance video showed a man entering the store and removing various items.

Police determined these circumstances were similar to a previous burglary that had occurred on Nov. 15 at the store for which they had a suspect. Police subsequently obtained and served a search warrant on a DuBois Street residence. During the search, police discovered items removed from the store, along with various other items of evidence.

The man was questioned by police, and he admitted to committing both of the recent burglaries at the store.
