UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s Wednesday, Dec. 5, game vs. La Salle at the Palestra in Philadelphia will be televised live by the NBC Sports Network, it was announced Monday (Nov. 26). The game, originally scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip, will now tipoff at 9 p.m.
Penn State will be playing in Philadelphia for the fifth time in the last six years. Tickets for the game in the historic Palestra are available for as low as $20 by calling the La Salle ticket office at 215-951-1999 or emailing tickets@lasalle.edu.
Penn State is offering a student package including a ticket to the game and a bus trip to and from the Palestra for just $15. Students can begin registering for that trip at Wednesday night’s ACC/Big Ten Challenge game vs. Boston College at the Bryce Jordan Center. The La Salle game is the 24th announced nationally televised game of the season for Penn State and the Nittany Lions’ first ever appearance on the NBC Sports Network, which reaches 80 million homes.
La Salle (3-1) leads the series with Penn State 2-1. The teams will be meeting for the first time since a 1986 contest at the AMI Classic in Miami, Fla., won by Penn State, 59-58. The Explorers defeated Villanova, 77-74, in overtime Sunday. Penn State (3-2) is coming off a 60-57 victory over previously unbeaten Bucknell on Friday and will take on Boston College in a 9:15 p.m. tip Wednesday at the Bryce Jordan Center in an ACC/Big Ten Challenge game.
