ALTOONA – A Blair County man was arrested Sunday after police discovered more than 600 bags of heroin at his residence.
Brandon Thompkins, who investigators described as a large-scale heroin dealer, was taken into custody at his 14th Avenue residence in Altoona. Thompkins has only been released from jail for two months after serving seven years for drug offenses.
Authorities said the heroin discovered in Thompkins’ residence has a street value of $18,000. In addition to the drugs, police seized more than $400 in cash, four handguns and drug packaging materials.
The raid was conducted by officials with the Blair County District Attorney’s Office, Altoona police and a local Drug Task Force.
