Man Sustains Head Laceration in Bar Altercation

CLEARFIELD – The investigation is continuing into an incident of simple assault and harassment that occurred at approximately 1:28 a.m. Sunday at the St. Charles Café in Clearfield Borough.

According to the Clearfield-based state police, a known woman and a 41-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, both of Clearfield, were involved in a verbal altercation. It allegedly escalated into a physical altercation when the known woman allegedly threw a beer bottle at the man’s head. It struck the man in the head and caused a laceration.

Then, the known woman allegedly punched the 36-year-old woman in the left eye, causing it to become black and blue. The man was transported to the Clearfield Hospital to be evaluated for a head injury via a private vehicle.

The known woman fled prior to police arrival.
