Obituary Notice: Phillip R. Snyder

Phillip R. Snyder, 63 of Bedford died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Bedford.

Born Sept. 4, 1949 in Union City, he was the son of the late Clifford and Helen (Altman) Snyder.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He worked at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Bedford since its inception.

He was previously active in the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department’s Fourth Ward Hose Company.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bedford and the former Moose Lodge in DuBois.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 113 in Bedford.

He is survived by three children, Christopher Snyder of Warren; Joleen Joiner and her husband, Larry of Hazen; and Jeanette E. Petitti and her husband, Michael of DuBois; two brothers, Eugene “Lee” Snyder of Wattsburg and Dennis Snyder of Lancaster; a sister, Patricia “Patty” Brink of Waterford; and four grandchildren, Aundrea Snyder, Devin Joiner, Maura Petitti and Gabby Buckley.

There will be no public visitation. His family and friends will be hosting a luncheon Monday at the Warsaw Township Fire Hall in Hazen. It’ll be hosted from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.
