Floyd W. Winters, 81, of West Decatur died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
He was the son of the late Lloyd and Wava (Hampton) Winters and born June 12, 1931 in Decatur Township. He married Mae (Sheroke) Winters 0n June 7, 1953 at the former Ohio E.U.B Church in Morgan Run, Osceola Mills. She survives him at the Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Mr. Winters was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God in Philipsburg.
He was a retired coal miner and a 1949 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Winters is survived by a daughter, Judith Chilcot and her husband, Richard of Woodbridge, VA and two sons, the Rev. Daniel B. Winters and his wife, Bonnie of Philipsburg and Timothy A. Winters and his wife, Tammy of West Decatur.
Also surviving are three brothers, Charles Winters and his wife, Georgia and Milton Winters and his wife, Edith, all of West Decatur and Sherman Winters and his wife, Marjorie of Hollywood, FL; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Robert Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at the Baughman Cemetery in RD Houtzdale.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service Tuesday at the church.
