Virginia M. Zimmermann, 90, of Woodland died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital. Mrs. Zimmermann was born Sept. 9, 1922 in Queens, NY, the daughter of Benard and Wilma (Kunz) Jahrsdoerfer.
Mrs. Zimmermann was Roman Catholic by faith. She retired as a senior loan officer for Bank of America.
She is survived by three children, Joan A. Green and her husband, Harold of Woodland; William J. Zimmermann and his wife, Francine of Smithtown, NY; and James G. Zimmermann of Woodland and Theresa of Erie.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jennifer Casher, Christine Brnik, William Melius Jr., Jon Zimmermann, Laura Beth Onorato, Michael Zimmermann, William Zimmermann and James Zimmermann; eight great-grandchildren, Morgan, Courtney, Taylor, Alyssa, Darian, Curtis, Nathan and Connor; and three great-great grandchildren, Hayden, Bristol and Olivia.
Mrs. Zimmermann was the last member of her generation. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William G. Zimmermann, who died Dec. 16, 1977; and a granddaughter, Amy Casher, who died June 16, 2000.
Honoring Mrs. Zimmermann’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Erie Homes for Youth and Adults, 2401 Cumberland Rd., Erie, PA 16503.
