Dorothy J. Aughenbaugh, 91, of Clearfield died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital, Clearfield.

She was born Nov. 3, 1921 in Eden, a daughter of the late Chester and Anna (Luzier) Shugerts and by Henry and Delia Jury, by whom she was raised.

Mrs. Aughenbaugh was a homemaker who loved shopping and dining out. She also enjoyed playing cards, doing crafts and cooking and baking.

She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield and the former Bradford Grange.

She is survived by seven children, Florence Faulkner and Loretta Dixon and her companion, Michael Maines , all of Hyde; Donna Wilson and her husband, Bert of Bradford; Gail Morgan and her husband, James of Pittsburgh; Fred Aughenbaugh of Curwensville; Barb Musser and her husband, John of Philipsburg; and Steven Aughenbaugh and his companion, Dawna Henry of Clearfield.

Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers, Alva Beals of Las Vegas, NV, Jane Peters of Tonawanda, NY, Ethel Leal of Houston, TX, Chester K. Shugerts of Woodland and Kenneth Shugerts of Frenchville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Aughenbaugh on Oct. 24, 2007 and whom she wed July 19, 1938 in St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald Faulkner; a daughter-in-law, Patty Aughenbaugh; a great-granddaughter, Gem Little and a great-grandson, Alex Kavelak; and two brothers, William H. Shugerts and Ronald C. Shugerts.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Burial will follow in the Eden Cemetery, Shawville.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 541 Graham Station Rd., Philipsburg, PA 16866.
