DUBOIS – A published author with some very strong and unique ties to the world of engineering and powder metals (PM) is scheduled to speak at Penn State DuBois in November. The campus engineering club will host Kristine Gasbarre, author of How to Love an American Man (Harper Collins), who will discuss her book, and relationship with her family and the PM industry.
Gasbarre’s family has a rich history in PM, and their DuBois-based company, Gasbarre Products, continues to be a global leader the industry. Gasbarre’s book is a memoir of a year that she spent with her grandmother garnering advice on life and love. Her grandmother recounted tales of the support she offered her husband, Kristine’s grandfather, as he worked day and night to launch a family business that would become a world-wide industrial frontrunner.
All are welcome to attend the presentation, free of charge, at 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in Room 209 of the DEF Building at Penn State DuBois. For more information, contact Craig Stringer, assistant professor of engineering at cjs206@psu.edu or Kevryn Boser, engineering club president, at krb5314@psu.edu
