PHOTO: Residents Learn About Breast Cancer

Area residents learned about breast cancer at a recent educational program entitled “Breast Cancer Awareness” sponsored by the Breast Cancer and Women’s Health Institute of Central Pennsylvania (BCWHI), Tyrone Hospital and Epworth Manor.

The program was held Oct. 25 at Epworth Manor. The guest speaker was Dr. Ruth Modzelewski of Susan G. Komen for a Cure.  Guests included Tyrone Mayor William Fink. The event included a musical performance by guitar and piano music provided by Randy Jackson and Stephen Janopoulos along with dinner and door prizes.

Special recognition is extended to the many area organizations and individuals who supported the event and donated door prizes, including Aseracare Hospice, Centre Life Link, Gardners Candies, Grane Hospice, Home Nursing Agency, Horizons Hospice, Lannette Johnston, director of outreach programs at Tyrone Hospital, Rosemary Jorden, director of human resources at Tyrone Hospital, OIP Italian Restaurant in Tyrone, Southerncare Hospice and Brad Young of Tyrone Hospital.
