TAYLOR TOWNSHIP – A 16-year-old Tyrone girl sustained moderate injuries after a single-vehicle accident at 8:45 a.m. Saturday on Stahls Lane in Taylor Township, according to the Philipsburg-based state police.
The girl was traveling westbound and negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway. At some point, she lost control of her vehicle. She attempted to regain control but wasn’t able to do so.
Her vehicle slid in a clockwise direction and traveled off the roadway and down a small embankment. There, it impacted a large tree with the area of its left, front wheel, state police said.
The girl was able to exit her vehicle and was transported to the Tyrone Hospital before being transferred to the Altoona Regional Medical Center. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
