Maynard Samuel Neamy, 88, of Grampian died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital. Born June 18, 1924 in New Millport, he was the son of Samuel and Mae (Bell) Neamy.
Mr. Neamy was employed by Penelec/GPU first as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator and then as a mechanic. He retired as the mechanical/garage supervisor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II as a sergeant and received the Silver Star. He was an avid hunter.
He wed the former Vivian Hickok on July 16, 1946 and who preceded him in death Nov. 21, 1992. He was also preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Fred Neamy, brothers Earl and Theodore Neamy and a sister, Esther Waddel.
Surviving are two daughters, Judith M. Neamy of Grampian and Bonnie Dremel and her husband, James of North Bend. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Michael Rosamilia and his wife, Denise, Jaime Gentzyel and her husband, Drew, Jennifer Dremel and Jodie Dremel, all of North Bend; a great-granddaughter, Emma Gentzyel of North Bend; a brother, Herman Neamy of Clearfield; and a sister, Louise Mihal and her husband, Steve of New Millport.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., with Mr. James Price officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Olanta.
There will be no public visitation.
