Glenda, affectionately called “DeeDee,” daughter of Verna Diggs, was born Monday, May 18, 1964, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
A graduate of Harrisburg High School, Glenda’s career path included positions with Penn National Insurance Company, Metro Teleconnected and, lastly, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Revenue, as an Examiner.
Glenda accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age being baptized at Second Baptist Church, Harrisburg.
She loved and enjoyed her children who were the “light-of-her-life.” People who knew her always commented how she kept her “hair tight.” When she smiled, her entire face beamed. Glenda enjoyed listening to gospel music, shopping, supporting her Philadelphia Eagles and, most of all, eating good food.
In Harrisburg, on Friday, October 19, 2012, Glenda was called to her Heavenly Home. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Harry Diggs. She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy a loving and devoted family: mother, Verna Diggs; son, Antoinne Diggs; daughter, Shayla A. Diggs, all of Harrisburg; brothers, Richard Diggs (Carla) of Clearfield, PA, Bernard Diggs (Sissy) of Jacksonville, Florida, Robert Diggs of York, PA, Kevin Diggs (Maritza) of Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Darrell Soni Hawkins (James) of Harrisburg; one grandson, Julien Dent of Steelton, PA; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
