Constance Ellen “Connie” Rowles, 69, of Olanta, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born Dec. 11, 1942 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Gerald and Kathleen (Turner) Collins. Mrs. Rowles was a homemaker and also worked in United Methodist Ministries in the Pennsylvania United Methodist Church Western Conference alongside her husband for 26 years.
She was a 1959 high honors graduate of the Clearfield Area High School, was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Olanta and an associate member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church in Sebring, FL. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, walking in the woods and reading.
On Sept. 17, 1950 in Clearfield, she wed Forrest D. Rowles, who survives, along with four children, Eric G. Rowles and his wife, Lesa of Cazenovia, NY, Diana L. Hooper of Edinboro, Betsy A. Tirbovich and her husband, Barry of Greenville, SC and Kathleen V. Rowles of Asheville, NC.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Zachary and Emily Rowles; Jaclyn, Jonathan, and Julia Hooper; and Kathleen and Ann Jacob and six brothers and sisters, Celene McCauley and her husband, John of Bellefonte, Sandy Faust and her husband, Joe of Coudersport, and Marty Collins and his wife, Donna, Sue Stewart, Kristy McQuillen and Jimmy Collins and wife, Shari, all of Clearfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jed Collins and a sister, Mary Gearhart.
There will be no public visitation and a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
