Oscar Geynet Buck, 82, of Clearfield died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
He was born March 2, 1930 in Woodland, a son of the late Oscar C. ‘Curtie’ and Oma (Maines) Buck.
Mr. Buck owned and operated Buck Trucking, Clearfield, which he opened in 1977. Prior to that, he was employed at Beckwith Machinery Co. as a mechanic. Mr. Buck was a lifetime member of Clearfield Fire Department, Second Ward and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by five children, Patti Husler and husband, Richard; Oscar G. Buck II and his wife, Bonnie; Betsy Buck; and Matt Buck and his wife Lisa, all of Clearfield and Tim Buck and his wife, Peg of Virginia.
Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Diehl of Clearfield; three brothers, Henry Buck and his wife, RosaLee of Woodland, Fred Buck and his wife, Virginia of OH and Ed Buck and his wife, Lois Jane of Morrisdale; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsa Mae ‘June’ (Gardner) Buck on Feb. 17, 1989 and whom he wed Oct. 16, 1954. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Josephine and Loretta Buck; and three brothers, Rich, Barry ‘Boots’ and David Buck.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Charles J. Swenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home.
