Sara V. Stephens, 86, of Clearfield died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Stephens was born March 17, 1926 at Dale, Bradford Township, the daughter of Allen A. and Orpha M. (Ayers) Irwin.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Clearfield.
She is survived by three children, Patricia L. Giampa and her husband, Michael of
West Mifflin, Gregory I. Stephens of Bigler and Lisa J. Stankovich and her husband, David of Fredonia; eight grandchildren, Kathryn and James Giampa, Mitchell, Zachary and Jonathan Stephens and Tory, Casey and Connor Stankovich; and a sister, Geraldeen Denton of Clearfield.
Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard James
Stephens, whom she married Dec. 3, 1949 and who died Feb. 21, 1997; four sisters, Lucille Turner, Martha Tobias, Margaret Hile and Dorothy McDonald and a brother, Michell Irwin.
Honoring Mrs. Stephen’s wishes there will be no public visitation or viewing.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Mark Brower officiating.
Burial will be at Bradford Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Spirit Hall, 1010 Dorey St., Clearfield, PA 15830 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
