BELLEFONTE – Starting Monday, Oct. 15, Interstate 80 bridge preservation work in Centre County will include an eastbound lane restriction in the area of the Milesburg/158 interchange.
On Monday, the left (passing) lane eastbound will be closed between the 158 and 159 mile-markers. This lane closure is necessary, so crews can repair a bridge damaged after an accident last month. Work will include repairs to the safety wing, parapet, and curb. This lane restriction is expected to last about three weeks.
The left lane closure will extend past mile-marker 159 due to on-going bridge work. Drivers will then be shifted from the right (travel) lane to the left (passing) lane as rehab work continues on another bridge. Overall bridge repair work eastbound and westbound is ongoing between mile-markers 159 and 167. That work is scheduled through November.
