Alice H. Conrad, 78, of Hyde died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
She was born December 15, 1933 in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Alman E. and Margaret E. (Richards) Hickok.
Mrs. Conrad was employed at the former Shortway Products, GC Murphy and Berg Electronics. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting and especially loved to read.
She is survived by two children, Leslie J. Canter of Clearfield and Susan A. Kitko and her husband, Dennis of Madera; seven grandchildren, Holly Ann Canter, Tracy Ann Canter, Charles J. Canter and his wife, Michelle, Robert D. Gearhart, Dan E. Gearhart Jr., Stacey L. Norris and her husband, Greg and Scott A. Gearhart; and nine great-grandchildren, Julie Marie, Tyler James and Kaitlin Canter, Colton Reese, Jessica L., Kevin and Ryan Gearhart, Peyton and Colton Norris.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Conrad on Jan. 1, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Gearhart, a brother, Robert Hickok and two infant brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 541 Graham Station Rd., Philipsburg, PA 16866.
