Mary Frances Vaughn, 90, of Tyrone and formerly of Hudson, RD Philipsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 11 at Epworth Manor in Tyrone.
She was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary Frances (Walton) Lamb born Nov. 2, 1921. She married Charles E. Vaughn Sr. on April 25, 1940 in Altoona. He preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1991.
Mrs. Vaughn was a member of the South Philipsburg Christian & Missionary Alliance Church for more than 60 years. She enjoyed singing in the church and had taught Sunday school for many years.
She was a homemaker and a mother. She was a 1939 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kephart; an infant daughter; an infant son; a granddaughter, Prudence Mae Vaughn; a sister, Deloris Fetters; and a brother, John “Buddy” Lamb.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda L. Jacobson and her husband, the Rev. Paul Jacobson of Tyrone and Beverly J. Keller of Hudson, RD Philipsburg; two sons, Charles F. Vaughn Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Limerick and Tim E. Vaughn and his wife, Carol of Eldred; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Wick of Cleveland, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Scot R. Hartsock officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Monday at the funeral home.
