The Mahaffey Center for Active Living invites area residents aged 50 and older to the Center to receive free antique appraisals.
On Wednesday Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Pat Errigo, local auctioneer, will provide appraisals in the format similar to those done in the popular Antiques Roadshow program.
Errigo has been in the antiques business for close to 50 years. He is a member of the PA Auctioneers Association, the National Auctioneers Association and the Mid-State Appraisers Association.
Attendees are invited to bring along one or two items to be appraised, but nothing larger than what can be carried in two hands. Curiosity seekers are invited also. You do not need to bring an item to enjoy the program. Reservations aren’t needed. However, those interested in having lunch at the Center, prior to the program, are asked to call the day before to make a meal reservation. Any Clearfield County individual 60 years of age or older may contribute to the cost of the meal on a donation basis. The cost to those under age 60 is $3.50.
The Mahaffey Center for Active is located in the Mahaffey Fire Hall, 958 Market St., Mahaffey and is open Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Information on programs, meals, and activities is available by calling the Center at 277-4544 or 1-800-225-8571 or by visiting the CCAAA Web site at www.ccaaa.net.
Programs and services of the agency are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Clearfield Area Agency on Aging Inc., Mature Resources Foundation, and local and consumer contributions.
