Shirley L. Yarger, 86, of Osceola Mills died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Guy and Margaret (Smith) Kizer born Sept. 21, 1926 in Houtzdale. She married Merle C. Yarger on May 5, 1945 in Osceola Mills and who proceeded her in death Nov. 23, 2001.
Mrs. Yarger was a member of the Ohio United Methodist Church in Osceola Mills. She was a member of the United Methodist Women of the church and a member of the Red Hats Society in Morrisdale.
She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, three sisters, Elsie Hayward, Lelia Rougeux and an infant sister, Pauline Kizer; six brothers, Charles, Clair, Edward, Merle “Bill” and two infant brothers, Leslie and Johnny Kizer; a granddaughter, Lora E. Scaife; and a son-in-law, Artie, Reams.
Mrs. Yarger is survived by two daughters, Gloria Reams of Osceola Mills and Eileen Scaife and her husband, Melvin of Burnt Cabins; two brothers, Richard Kizer and his wife, Lucy of Honesdale and Ronald Kizer and his wife, Mildred of Osceola Mills; five grandchildren, Lisa Daniel, Mark Reams, Sheila Mayes, Krista Pulsney, and Dustin Scaife; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, with Pastor Donald Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Sanborn Cemetery in (Sanborn) rural Houtzdale.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 p.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
