CLEARFIELD – The United Steelworker’s Union Local 8166 will host a 74th District Candidates Forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Clearfield Sons of Italy Lodge. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
USW Local 8166 President Charlie Lombardo said that he and his members were interested in learning the candidates’ views regarding issues that will directly affect their lives and employment. With the retirement of State Rep. Camille “Bud” George, he said it is important to understand whoever fills this seat will have a significant impact on the future of the Clearfield area.
Both the Democratic candidate Mark B. McCracken and Republican candidate Tommy Sankey have agreed to attend. Each candidate will be given an opportunity to make a brief speech followed by questions from the audience and a closing statement.
Members of the public are invited to attend this free event. The SOI Lodge is located at 1007 Daisy St., Clearfield. Guests should use the side entrance. Light refreshments will be provided.
