STATE COLLEGE  — Jerry Sandusky is asking the judge in his child molestation case to return to his wife $50,000 in cash and release their home, which was put up as collateral for $200,000 bail.

Sandusky lawyer Joe Amendola on Thursday filed a two-page motion asking Judge John Cleland to enter an order that court officials release to his wife Dottie the money and the claim on their home.

Sandusky’s been in a county jail since his conviction in June on 45 counts of child sexual abuse. He’s expected to get a lengthy state prison term when sentenced by Cleland next week.

Before trial, the former Penn State assistant coach had been on home confinement. Sandusky maintains his innocence and Amendola has said he expects to file an appeal.
