Florence Ruth Welch, 83, of Clearfield died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at the Marion Manor, Curwensville.
She was born Aug. 31, 1929 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Ernest and Effie (Ross) Aughenbaugh.
Mrs. Welch was a homemaker who was liked by everyone with whom she came in contact. She also enjoyed fishing and gardening, especially enjoying flowers that she kept in the house.
She is survived by three children, Kathryn Milliken and her husband, Robert of Florida, Richard L. Welch Jr. of Clearfield and Cynthia McNamara of Cheektowaga, NY; a step-son Richard Ott and his wife, Kathryn of Meadville; five grandchildren, three great-granddaughters and one great great-granddaughter; a sister, Virginia Smith of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Welch on June 5, 1998 and whom she wed Dec. 24, 1947 in Clearfield; a daughter, Beverly Pearson; a sister, Betty Renner and four brothers, Leroy ‘Dinny’, Raymond, Kenneth ‘Joe’ and Frederick Aughenbaugh.
At the request of Mrs. Welch, there will be no public services. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Clearfield.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Marion Manor, 1223 Schofield Street Ext., Curwensville.
