Downtown Clearfield has been decorated with cornstalks through the efforts of the Clearfield Revitalization Corp.’s Main Street Program and its promotion committee.

This year, the CRC partnered with Cub Scouts Pack 2, Boy Scouts Troop 2, both of the Presbyterian Church, and the Girl Scouts Troop 28148 for this event.

The Boy Scouts helped the promotion committee volunteers deliver the stalks to downtown, while the Cub Scouts helped decorate the stalks onto the new street lamps. The Girl Scouts cleaned the left over debris from the stalks and tidied up the sidewalks.

“This is the fourth year the CRC has decorated downtown and each time it is a total team effort,” said Main Street Manager Kellie Truman.

Truman thanked the CRC promotion committee volunteers who orchestrated it all from coordinating and cutting the stalks, delivering and decorating. More specifically, she thanked Chairman Rob Bozovich, Heather Bozovich, Joe Kelly, Matt Checchio, Holly Bloom and Brock Shaffer. In addition, she thanked Henry’s Farms for donating the cornstalks as well as the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts for their enthusiasm and willingness to help.

“We are looking forward to working together next year,” said Truman.

Downtown Clearfield is one step closer to the Fall Festival and 5K Pumpkin Run scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13. For more information, please visit www.DiscoverClearfield.com.
