Hancock tabbed Big Ten Co-Setter of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Sophomore Micha Hancock (Edmond, Okla.) has been named the Big Ten Co-Setter of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. Hancock shares the honor with Minnesota’s Alexandra Palmer. This is the second Setter of the Week honor for Hancock and her third award overall.

Hancock aided Penn State to two Big Ten conference wins, including a 3-1 win against No. 3 Nebraska and a 3-1 victory versus Iowa. Hancock averaged 13.50 assists per set, 2.75 digs per set and 0.50 blocks per set for the week.

Against the Huskers, Hancock totaled 55 assists as Penn State hit .315. She was also third on the team in digs with 11. On Saturday against the Hawkeyes, Hancock dished out 53 assists to guide Penn State to a .279 hitting percentage. She had the team’s three aces and 11 digs.

Penn State continues Big Ten play on Sept. 28-29 when the Nittany Lions travel to Wisconsin and Minnnesota, respectively. Both matches are scheduled for 8 p.m. ET starts.
