Genevieve Marie Bojalad, 94 of Dubois died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at her residence.
Born Feb. 27, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Nazeera (Kassouf) Dahrouge. On Oct. 11, 1948, she married Roger Charles Bojalad, who preceded her in death May 1, 1968.
She was a homemaker and had worked at her family store, Dahrouge’s, for many years.
She was 1938 graduate of the St. Catherine’s School and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.
She was a charter member of the Friendship Hose Company # 2 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan and enjoyed gardening. She was well-known for her Lebanese cooking and her seasonal window displays along DuBois Street.
She is survived by a son, Robert J. Bojalad and his wife, Barbara and a daughter, Jean Marie Bojalad, both of DuBois; three grandchildren, Robert S. Bojalad and his wife, Shelley, Kristen L. Vida and her husband, Greg and Matthew C. Bojalad, all of DuBois; and two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Gavin Bojalad. She was the last surviving member of the Simon Dahrouge family.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Abraham Dahrouge.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc. A scriptural wake service will be conducted at 3:45 p.m. Friday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery
