Mary Lou Marshall, 84, of Luthersburg went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, surrounded by her family at her residence.
Born Dec. 10, 1927 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Burt and Luella (London) Knarr. On Jan. 21, 1948, she married Orville R. Marshall. He survives.
Mrs. Marshall was a homemaker and the Brady Township Tax Collector for 28 years. She also drove school bus for many years.
She was a charter member of Brady Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she served treasurer for 33 years.
She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, where she served as the treasurer of the Ladies Guild for many years. She was also a Sunday school and Bible school teacher and involved in St. Luke’s Puppet Ministry.
Mrs. Marshall was the secretary for the Brady Township Park and Recreation Board, and she acquired her private pilot license of which she was very proud. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Sherry DeBoer and her husband, Bob and Greg Marshall and his wife, Peggy, all of Luthersburg, Marilyn Liddle and her husband, Randy of DuBois and Beth Ann Makufka and her husband, Dave of Mims, FL, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Wingert.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Luthersburg with Pastor Robert Newell officiating.
Burial will be in Luthersburg Union Cemetery.
