PIKE TOWNSHIP – A 48-year-old Curwensville man, Larry M. Elensky, was transported to the Altoona Regional Hospital for medical treatment following a single-vehicle accident at 4:25 p.m. Monday on the Curwensville – Tyrone Highway in Pike Township, according to the Clearfield-based state police.
Elensky was traveling northbound when he lost control of his vehicle, which went over a culvert on the east berm. The Elensky vehicle continued north and struck an embankment, where it then overturned onto its roof on the roadway.
The Elensky vehicle came to a final rest, facing southeast in the northbound lane. Elensky was partially ejected from his vehicle and found stuck underneath by witnesses. Four witnesses lifted the vehicle to free Elensky.
Elensky wasn’t wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was cited with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
