Anna Elizabeth (Tubbs) Freeman, 89, of Curwensville died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at her home.
She was born May 22, 1923 in Kellytown, a daughter of the late Alonzo and Effie (Bishop) Tubbs.
Mrs. Freeman retired from Kent’s Sportswear. Previously, she had been employed throughout the area at DuPont Electronics, Murphy’s Five and Dime, Kantars and the Park Hotel. She had also worked for Nabisco in New York.
Mrs. Freeman enjoyed crocheting and traveling with her husband across the U.S.
She is survived by her sister, Josephine M. Titanish of Stewartstown and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Freeman on Sept. 10, 2000 and whom she wed Sept. 26, 1953 in Kane; and seven brothers and sisters, Gilbert, Theodore, Pauline, Alvin, Albert, Paul and Howard.
In accordance with Mrs. Freeman’s wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
