Richard Aaron Breeden, 19, P.O. Box 468, of Coalport, pleaded guilty to burglary and theft in three cases. Jamie Lyn McClellan, 32, of West Decatur is charged with conspiracy and burglary in six cases. After she failed to appear in court for sentencing, a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.
Breeden was sentenced to 60 days to one year in jail and four years consecutive probation. He was fined $350 plus costs and must pay restitution of over $1,400.
His attorney, Joseph Ryan, explained to the court that the others took advantage of Breeden, who admitted his involvement once questioned and returned all the items he had from the crimes.
The burglaries occurred between Dec. 13 and Jan. 6 in Houtzdale, Coalport, Chest Township and Beccaria Township. The investigation began after police received an anonymous phone call, stating that Daniel Dillen, Bruce Lansberry and McClellan had been stealing things from the Coalport area.
Dillen and four others allegedly broke into several area businesses, a camp and the Glendale Sportsmen’s Club. They removed more than $11,000 worth of items from the various locations, according to a press release from District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr.
Dillen, 25, 1076 Glendale Valley Blvd., of Fallentimber is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy and related charges in seven cases. His attorney has notified the court that he is pursuing an insanity defense, according to court documents. A motion to employ a psychiatrist for him was continued until motions court in October.
Lansberry, 27, 120 Rodeo Pike, of Glasgow, is charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property in three cases and with theft, criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen property in a fourth case. In August, according to court documents, Lansberry was sent for a psychiatric evaluation.
According to the affidavits in Breeden’s cases, sometime between Dec. 19 and Dec. 22, Dillen, McClellan, Breeden and Lansberry traveled to a storage shed in Beccaria Township, where Lansberry cut a padlock and they entered the unit. They removed two generators and a meter.
Sometime between Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, Dillen, McClellan, Lansberry and Breeden went to Car Quest Auto Parts store in Houtzdale. Lansberry broke a window and the three males entered the business. Breeden removed a cash register containing $300.
Between Dec. 25 and Dec. 26, Dillen, McClellan and Breeden broke into the Glendale Sportsman’s Club in Beccaria Township. Breeden accessed the building by prying open a door. Dillen and Breeden then removed a compound bow, another bow and arrows, a nail gun, screw gun, a grinder, a microwave, a refrigerator, some food and $20 in cash.
