One Injured in Three-vehicle Accident in Fox Township

FOX TOWNSHIP – One person sustained moderate injuries after a three-vehicle accident at 2:40 p.m. Friday at Main Street’s intersection with Irishtown Road in Fox Township, the Ridgway-based state police reported.

Luke R. Schreiber, 18, of Kersey sustained moderate injuries in the accident, state police said. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. Neither Duane T. Washburn, 31, of Ridgway nor Craig H. Beck, 33, of Weedville was injured. Both were wearing their seatbelts.

Schreiber was traveling southbound on Main Street and attempting a left-hand turn onto Irishtown Road. He made the turn in front of the Washburn vehicle, which was traveling northbound on Main Street.

At that point, the Schreiber vehicle struck the Washburn vehicle. After impact, the Washburn vehicle traveled eastbound on Irishtown Road and struck the Beck vehicle, which was stopped.

Schreiber was cited for vehicles turning left through the district court.  State police were assisted by the Fox Township Fire Department.
