The Penn State Marcellus Education Team will be offering a new monthly Shale webinar series, beginning from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Thursday, Sep. 13.
Tom Murphy, co-director of the Penn State Marcellus Center for Outreach and Research (MCOR) will open the series with an overview of trends and updates on shale development. He’ll provide an analysis of shale gas development, including trends in rigs, productions, pipeline, and compliance. This broad overview will provide a foundation for what the future may hold for the development of this energy source.
The webinar is the first in a monthly series of online workshops that provide education about a variety of current topics related to shale gas development. Upcoming planned topics include:

Dec. 20, What All the Water Studies Mean?: Putting them into Perspective
Jan. 17, Ethane Cracker Plant Impacts in a Community
Feb. 21, Environmental Organizations’ Perspectives on Natural Gas Impacts on Forestry and Wildlife
Webinars will run from 1p.m. – 2 p.m., with time for questions and answers.
Registration is not necessary, and all are welcome to participate by logging in. Participants can log in with their Friends of Penn State ID or as a guest.
