William N. “Bill” Lumadue, 88, of West Decatur died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 at his home. He was born June 28, 1924, the son of Joseph B. and Duella (Varner) Lumadue.

Mr. Lumadue retired in 1986 after 21 years of service with Howe’s Leather in Curwensville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.  He was a farmer all his life and raised Black Angus Beef and also a butcher with his own livestock and deer.

He was a member of the Philipsburg VFW.

Mr. Lumadue is survived by his wife, Elva E. (Gingery) Lumadue of West Decatur, his children, Billy J. Lumadue and his wife, Annette and Fred V. Lumadue and his wife, Tammy, all of West Decatur and Betty Nolen and husband, Rich of Middletown.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jeremy Lumadue and his wife, Sarah, Thomas Lanager, Heather Kopchak and her husband, Johnny, Taylor Lumadue, Mike Nolen, Donny Nolen, Richy Nolen and Rex Rothrock; 11 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Wisor of West Decatur and Edna Kephart of Clearfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Robert “Kurt” Lumadue, Hollis “Bum” Lumadue, Horatio “Spook” Lumadue, Jerome “Toad” Lumadue, Fred “Squib” Lumadue and Verdun “Peck” Lumadue.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the

Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. Lowell G. MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Stoneville Cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded by the Clearfield American Legion Post #6.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 2 p.m. until the hour of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
