Sandy Township Begins Budget Process, Reviews Items

DUBOIS – Township Manager Dick Castonguay announced he’d initiated the 2013 budget process at Monday night’s Sandy Township Supervisors and Municipal Authority meetings.

Castonguay plans to present the budget at the end of September.

The township has purchased the next allotment of rock salt through the Costars program. It is the usual amount of 1,000 tons.

Platt Road will also be closed when the sewer line work begins. The work will be at the edge of the Route 250 intersection with Platt Road.

The next meeting, scheduled originally for Sept. 3, was rescheduled for Sept. 4 due to the Labor Day holiday. According to Castonguay, if business for the Sept. 4 meeting appears low, it might be canceled outright.

Supervisor Jim Jeffers was absent from the meeting.
