COOPER TOWNSHIP – The Avondale Hotel was burglarized by two teenaged boys sometime between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Wednesday on Main Street in Cooper Township, the Clearfield-based state police reported.
A 17-year-old Munson boy and a 16-year-old Winburne boy allegedly forcibly entered the hotel and stole numerous bottles of liquor, Red Bull and other items.
The boys then met up with a 16-year-old Morrisdale boy and a 17-year-old Winburne boy at a nearby park. From there, the four boys allegedly went to a nearby wooded area and consumed the stolen alcohol.
Charges of burglary, theft and underage drinking will be filed against the first pair of boys. Charges of receiving stolen property and underage drinking will be filed against the second pair of boys.
