UPDATE: Two Men Injured in Wednesday’s Winslow Township Accident

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP – Two men sustained major to minor injuries following a single-vehicle accident at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday along U.S. Route 322 in Winslow Township, the DuBois-based state police reported in an updated news release.

Passenger Colby M. Lowe, 19, of Reynoldsville sustained major injuries in the accident. Another passenger, Richard Davies, 20, of Reynoldsville had minor injuries. Neither Lowe nor Davies was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

According to the report, Austin J. Lowe, 18, of Reynoldsville was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 322 at a high rate of speed while negotiating a gradual to moderate left-hand turn. He lost control of the vehicle in the turn, crossing the roadway and exiting the north berm.

His vehicle traveled onto a hillside, began to rotate and overturned counterclockwise. Then, his vehicle traveled off the hillside and re-entered the roadway, where it overturned across the roadway at least three times before exiting the south berm. His vehicle slid or overturned down an embankment and entered shrubbery.

Operator Austin Lowe and both passengers, Colby Lowe and Davies were ejected from the vehicle. They were all flown from the scene via medical helicopter. Austin Lowe wasn’t injured in the accident. He wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. He was cited for a speed limit violation.
